Dramet Diamond Band Saws achieve high band speed as the diamond particle to work piece contact time is minimized thereby achieving “free cutting.” The surface quality after the cut is very similar to an “as ground” surface due to the unique conditions achieved by our machine design and the deployed diamond saw band.
A typical application example is the pre-separation of semi-finished products, where material blocks are pre-cut precisely and efficiently. This process often consists of two steps: rapid rough cutting and subsequent grinding of the cut surfaces. This is achieved in a single process step using a DRAMET band saw. Application areas include, for example, glass blocks that are to be processed into lenses as the final product.
